Sean Sears is Associate Director of the CPEX Development & Conversion Investment Sales Team. He was promoted to this position in September 2016, having joined CPEX after completing the firm's Sales Training Program in 2014. With several years of experience in real estate, Sean plays an integral role on the Development Team through property valuations, the marketing process, and growing the product line’s list of current assignments and completed transactions.
Since joining the team, Sean has completed over 40 transactions with clients ranging from developers to institutional investors to family owners. These transactions have occurred throughout all the boroughs. Sean has sold, ground leased, or executed joint ventures for approximately 1,725,000 buildable square feet in total, with an aggregate value of more than $180,000,000.
Prior to CPEX, Sean held several positions in the real estate industry, including experience as a residential broker at Citi Habitats and Corcoran, Preston Properties, and the Siderow Organization. In these positions, he has completed a wide variety of lease and sales transactions for condominiums, co-operatives, townhouses, art galleries, and office space.
Sean also spent time as a proprietary equity trader for a select group of boutique trading firms, which included managing a New York Stock Exchange portfolio worth over $5 million while at Hold Brothers. In addition, he previously worked in restaurant management and customer service in New York, including the Time Hotel, where he oversaw the overall operation of the restaurant and lounge as the maître’ d and general manager.
Sean is a graduate of the University of Guyana with an Agriculture and Environmental Science degree. He also studied at Hunter College at the City University of New York (CUNY), and received a certificate in Property Management from the Schack Institute of Real Estate at the New York University School of Professional Studies. He is proficient in Spanish from having lived in the Caribbean and traveling to several other Spanish-speaking countries around the world. Sean has also given time as a volunteer for the Special Olympics and the development of affordable housing, including in Antigua and Barbuda.
A longtime resident of Brooklyn, he currently resides in Prospect Lefferts Garden.
