Sean R. Kelly joined CPEX Real Estate in 2009 and will be focusing his efforts on Investment Sales in New Jersey. Sean will also be working closely with Brian Leary in the Development/Conversion Investment Sales division throughout New York.  Sean’s diverse legal and financial background brings a strong analytical perspective to our transactions.

Prior to joining CPEX, Sean worked as an Associate at a midtown Manhattan-based boutique law firm.  In this role, he primarily represented individuals in the financial services industry, on employment related matters including, but not limited to, claims for breach of contract, discrimination, retaliation and failure to pay wages and/or bonus compensation. Sean was also responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment contracts, operating and shareholder agreements. Sean has significant experience in representing clients in alternative dispute resolution forums such as FINRA, AAA and JAMS. 

Before he practiced law Sean was a Political Action Coordinating Assistant for the New York State AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations), New York City Central Labor Council. In this capacity, Sean ensured compliance with federal and state election laws for Congressional District race and Senate District race.  This position gave Sean great exposure and allowed him to develop lasting relationships with several New York labor leaders. 

Immediately after graduating college, Sean was hired by Prudential Securities as an Associate in the Corporate Actions Foreign Bond and Dividend department.  Sean’s leadership skills and hard work earned him a promotion to Associate Vice President (“AVP”) within six months of being hired.  As an AVP Sean managed a team of seven associates.  

Sean received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Small Business Entrepreneurship from the University of South Carolina and a Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law.
